ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Shona, I'm 26 and a wildlife and pet portrait artist based in Oxfordshire, UK. I have loved animals and art for as long as I can remember, and I am so grateful to be able to combine these passions. I first started experimenting with art as a child where I would fill endless notebooks with drawings of animals. I loved writing stories about them, which was inspired by Beatrix Potter, who is still a huge inspiration to my artwork to this day.

I studied Art at GCSE, but decided to pursue my love of wildlife and the environment at university where I achieved a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Marine Biology at the University of Portsmouth in 2021. Following on to achieve a PGDip in Wildlife and Conservation Management at the University of South Wales in 2022.
During my undergraduate degree, whilst in the first lockdown, I tried acrylic painting for the first time and I fell in love. I was so used to drawing with pencils, this new way of creating art was so different and exciting. I have improved so much since that first painting, and I can't wait to create many more.

I dream of moving to Scotland, buying a house, continuing painting and having lots of animals. This year I am looking forward to growing my art business, taking on more commissions, and working towards my long term goal!
